Custom Boots

Every pair of custom boots from Houston
Boot Company is built one at a time, by hand, specifically for you. From the
initial conversation through final delivery, the process is collaborative. You
bring the vision; I bring the craftsmanship. The result is a pair of boots that
fit correctly, wear for decades, and could only belong to you.

The Custom Process

  1. Enquiry & Conversation: Start by filling out the form below (or emailing/calling). Tell me about the style you’re after, preferred leathers, colors, toe shape, heel height, top height, and any special details (inlays, tooling, collars, etc.). I’ll reply to discuss feasibility, timing, and pricing.

  2. Design & Quote: We’ll refine the design together. Once we’re aligned, I’ll send a detailed quote. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to lock in your place in the schedule and begin the work.

  3. In-Person Measurement (Required): Accurate fit is non-negotiable. All custom orders require an in-person measurement at the shop in Virginia City, Nevada. This is the only way I can properly assess your feet to create your unique last, and ensure the boots fit the way they should. Please plan to visit the Pioneer Emporium so we can complete this step before construction begins.

  4. Lasting & Construction: Once measured, I build a custom last for your foot. The boots are then assembled, stitched, hand-lasted and hand-welted using traditional methods. This stage takes the majority of the time and is where the fit and function are forged.

  5. Finishing & Delivery: When the boots are complete, I’ll photograph them and arrange shipping (or hold them for pickup). Current lead time is approximately two years from deposit and measurement to delivery, depending on design complexity and the existing queue. I’ll give you the most accurate timeline possible when we start.
